Elevate your tailoring skills with the Savile Row Bespoke Academy’s Coat Making evening class. This course is specifically designed for individuals passionate about crafting high-quality, bespoke coats. Using block patterns, you will learn to strike, cut and make a coat from start to finish. This class focuses solely on the bespoke tailoring process, ensuring that each student gains the hands-on experience needed to produce coats that meet the highest standards of craftsmanship.

whether you are an aspiring tailor or looking to sharpen your skills, this course will equip you with the expertise to create beautifully tailored coats.

You will be able to:

• Strike and cut Coats.

• Make various parts of a coat with precision, resulting in a high quality finished garment.

• Set sleeves correctly, to achieve perfect shoulder alignment and a clean professional finish.

• Understand coat structure including interlining and canvasing, to create durable and well-shaped coats.

• Install linings smoothly and seamlessly for a polished interior finish.

• Construct collars, ensuring they sit perfectly.

• Attach buttons and hand-make buttonholes that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

• Press and finish coats to a professional standard, ensuring a crisp and tailored appearance.

Course Delivery

SRBA’s training programme is delivered in customised training facilities on the premises of Maurice Sedwell. Ltd, 9-10 Savile Row, 1st floor London. The instructor will be one of our highly skilled tailors trained and employed by Maurice Sedwell

SRA will only admit a small number of students for each course to enable each trainee to receive a high degree of individual coaching from their instructor.

Certificate

Trainees who complete the course to the required standards will be awarded a Certificate.

2025 Dates 

4th February 2025 (Tuesday) ~ 10th July 2025 (Thursday). 

Course duration : 6 months

Time schedule : Tuesdays ~ Wednesdays ~ Thursdays / 6pm ~ 9pm

(*SRBA is closed on UK national holidays)

Cost

The cost of this evening course is £5,500 and includes 20% of VAT

All the equipment is available to use in the classroom, cloth is not included but we do have a selection of cloth to purchase directly from the academy or we can assist with purchasing cloth from our suppliers.
